Spanning Tree is proud to present our first class! Learn to wield a crochet hook or knitting needle with us at HacDC on July 11th.
During this two-hour class, you will learn basic knit and crochet stitches that you’ll use to create a washcloth. Needles and yarn will be provided. Space is limited, so be sure to register by emailing email@example.com!
Never been to HacDC before? You can get here by Metro, by bus, or even by bicycle. Looking forward to seeing you there!
“Make” buttons from the DC Mini Maker Faire
Spanning Tree had a table at the DC Mini Maker Faire this past Sunday! We really enjoyed talking to people, as well as showing off Becca’s eggbot and my 3D printed jewelry. The Maker Faire also wrote an extremely nice blog post about us, which brought many new faces to our table and visitors to their site!
Several people at the Faire asked what’s next for us as a group. Right now, Spanning Tree’s biggest goal is finding a space– preferably in DC–where we can set up our robots and sewing machines and start having classes. Until we find that space, we’re discussing making guest appearances at other hackerspaces to teach. Our first class will probably be about knitting, so watch this space for updates!
You can also follow us on Facebook, tweet us, or just send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to join our mailing list.
Visit our table this Saturday and Sunday at the USA Science & Engineering Festival! We’ll be in the Robotfest area (booth 1137) on the border between Halls A and B.
Spanning Tree is a DC-area feminist hacker/maker space. We welcome people of color, trans women, genderqueer/genderneutral people, and people with disabilities.
